CVGA 2025 Year-end Awards Banquet

Our annual awards dinner at PhoDay in Schaumburg on Saturday, December 6th, was a huge success! We had over 50 people there to celebrate the end of the year. Thanks to everyone who came out to join in the festivities.

Team HOCAA won the Teams CVGA Cup competition. Congratulations to the HOCAA (Captain Hoang, Angel, Angelina, Christopher, and Oobo). Second place went to the Flying Eagles (Captain Lang, Danny, Eric, Tri, and Vu).

Hoang Le won the 2025 CVGA Cup and Player of the Year award. Hoang consistently performed well throughout the season, placing in the top 5 in five of the nine monthly tournaments. Hoang really improved his ball striking in 2025 and had a great season. Thai was the runner-up for the 2025 CVGA Cup. He won the July tournament and came in second in June and September. Oobo came in third, followed by Binh and Christopher. 

Thai also won the Most Improved Player of the Year award. His handicap index improved by 33% and finished the year at 12.1.

   • 1st place: Hoang – $500
   • 2nd place: Thai – $200 
   • 3rd place: Oobo – $100
   • 4th place: Binh –  dozen balls
   • 5th place: Christopher – dozen balls
2. Team CVGA Cup Winners
   • 1st place: Team HOCAA (Hoang, Oobo, Christopher, Angel, Angelina) – $1000
   • 2nd place: Team Flying Eagles (Lang, Danny, Eric, Tri, Vu) – $500
3. Most Improved Golfer Thai – 33% improvement in handicap index – Plaque
4. Best Tournament Round (must be present to win)
   • Low Net: Thai – 64.1 net and 78 gross at Klein Creek on July 13th – dozen Balls
   • Low Gross: Christopher (77 @ Klein Creek October), David (77 @ Arboretum May), Hoang (77@ Klein Creek July) and Oobo (77 @Steeple Chase June) – 1 sleeve balls
5. Waste Management Worst Tournament Round (must be present to win)
   • 1st place: Alan – 96.1 net and 114 gross at Arboretum on May 4th
   • 2nd place: Lam – 95.8 net and 110 gross also at Arboretum on May 4th
   • 3rd place: Baki – 94.8 net and 104 gross at Klein Creek on October 12th
   • 4th place: Mark – 94.3 net and 109 gross at Steeple Chase on November 2nd
6. • • 5th place: Vu – 92.5 net and 104 gross at Arboretum on May 4th – dozen Balls
