2025 CVGA July’s Tournament Results

It’s not often that someone shoots a net score of 68.1 and still loses by 4 strokes, but that’s exactly what happened on July 13th at Klein Creek Golf Club in Winfield, IL. Thai Dang went BEAST mode and shot a 78 gross for a net 64.1 to take July’s tournament. But Eric Ong’s effort was not for naught as he took second place overall and won the B Flight with a gross of 82 for a net score of 68.1. Hoang Le finished third with a gross of 77 and a net of 69.6. Those are terrific scores, guys. Well played. The Par-3 closest to the pin winners were Binh Le, Joe Pircon, Oobo Ochirjav, and Scott Sirisomsack. We have a new leader for the 2025 CVGA Cup. Hoang rode the third-place finish to the top of the standing at 655 points. Our previous leader, Binh, fell one spot to second place with 620 points. Thai catapulted to third place with 600 points, followed by Oobo Ochirjav at 580 and Danny Nguyen at 470 to round out the top 5. 

The Flying Eagles won the team competition by the slimmest of margins, 0.7 points, over Team HOCAA. Team Sixers came in third place at 219.3 points, followed by Pin Seekers at 226.8, and coming in 5th was Da Champs. 

In the race for the CVGA Team Cup, Team HOCAA maintains the lead with 275 points, followed by the Flying Eagles at 210. Teams Da Champs and Let’s Par-tee are tied for third at 150 points.
