2024 CVGA June Tournament Results

We had 32 golfers teed it up on Father’s Day, June 16th, at Klein Creek Golf Club in Winfield, IL. The Tournament Champion was Thai Dang with a gross of 83 and an impressive net of 67.7. Congratulations to Thai for winning his second consecutive tournament. Angelina Ba Ly Nguyen was second overall and won the B Flight with a gross of 84 and net of 71. Dung Nguyen finished third and won the A Flight with gross of 83 and net of 71.4. The Par-3 closest to the pin winners were Dung, Angelina, Amanda Bao Loan Nguyen and Danny Nguyen

For the team competition, the Saigon $hark$ continue their dominance performance winning June’s tournament by over 23 strokes with a team total net of 294.6 points. In second place was the Pin Seeker$ at 318.3 points followed by the Green Hunters at 319.7 points and bringing up the rear is the Golden Dragons at 320 points.

We have a new leader for the CVGA Cup. Thai has taken the lead with total score of 595 points knocking Allen Van to second place with 520 points. Danny Nguyen is at third place with 510 follow by Colin Nguyen at 475 points and Binh Le at 460 points. Note that the CVGA Cup final points total comprises of the top 8 scores out of 9 for each player so much can happen before we crown a new CVGA Cup Champion.

The Saigon $hark$ extend their lead in the Team Competition CVGA Cup standing at 300 points followed by the Pins Seeker$ at 200, Golden Dragons at 125 and Green Hunter$ at 75. Impressive playing Saigon $hark$ but the season there are many more tournaments to go before we crown the 2024 Team Champion.

Next month’s tournament will be at Arboretum Golf Club on July 7, 2024 with the first tee time starting at 12pm. The format will be individual stroke play. Click on this link to register. You can also register on the ChicagoVGA app.
