ChicagoVGA Wins the 2026 Michiago Cup
Team ChicagoVGA won the 2026 Michiago Cup for the second successive year at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall, Michigan with a score of 27 – 17.
The annual competition between the ChicagoVGA (CVGA) and DetroitVGA (DVGA) started bright and early on Saturday morning with the Team Shamble matches. Team CVGA started out strong, taking all five Flight A matches. Team DVGA’s Flight B teams stormed back to take the next three matches. The morning session ended with Team CVGA winning 6 matches to Team DVGA 5 with one match all squared.
The Saturday afternoon Four-Ball session remained highly competitive, with Team CVGA securing 7 matches to Team DVGA’s 5. By the end of Saturday’s team play, Team ChicagoVGA held a 3.5-point lead. Afterward, both teams gathered for a terrific dinner hosted by Vanessa and Huy at their lake house, where ribeyes, shrimp, and plenty of wine and beer provided the perfect finish to a fantastic day. A big shout-out to Team DVGA for arranging the dinner.
Entering Sunday’s Singles matches, Team ChicagoVGA needed 10 out of 24 matches to secure the victory. They sealed the 2026 Michiago Cup by winning 13 matches, and with three additional ties, finished with a final score of 27 – 17. Well done Team ChicagoVGA.
