CVGA 2024 Year-end Awards Banquet
Our annual awards dinner at PhoDay in Schaumburg on Saturday, December 7th, was a huge success! We had over 50 people there to celebrate the end of the year. Thanks to everyone who came out to join in the festivities. A special shoutout to all the incredible spouses in attendance – you’re the best!
The Saigon Sharks won the inaugural Teams CVGA Cup competition. Congratulations to the Sharks (Captain Colin Nguyen, Binh Le, Thai Dang, Christopher Nguyen, Vu Nguyen and Paul Pham)
David Bui took home the 2024 CVGA Cup and Player of the Year award. David had a bit of a slow start to the year, but really picked up the pace in the summer. In August and September, David finished first, in July and October, second. He kept up his amazing performance at the VGA of America National tournament in Las Vegas and won the Championship Net Flight! Congratulatons David for a great year.
Binh Le was the runner-up for the 2024 CVGA Cup. Binh won the September tournament and finished second in March and October. Thai Dang came in third place by winning the May and June tournaments. Allen Van was fourth and Chau Nguyen was fifth. Congrats to David, Binh, Thai, Allen, and Chau for a great year!
Lam Vo won the Most Improved Player of the Year award. Lam started the year with a handicap index in the mid-20’s and ended the year at 17.4. That’s a huge improvement, Lam!

- Lowest Round in Monthly Tournament – Thai Dang (67.7 net @ Klein Creek on June 16th – Box of TP5X)
- Waste Management Highest Round in Monthly Tournament – Paul Pham (94.9 net @ Arboretum Club on October 3rd – Box of Used Golf Balls)
We had an amazing season in 2024! It was so much fun to see everyone participating in the monthly tournaments and weekly outings. I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season and can’t wait to see everyone on the course again in 2025!
