2023 LaVi Cup Results

The annual LaVi Cup competition between Team Viet and Team Lao was back in full swing yesterday at Bowes Creek Country Club. Team Lao came in as the defending champion and needed 11 points to retain the cup. The weather conditions were fantastic with low 80’s temperature and very little wind. The golf course was in great condition as well providing a perfect setting for the highly anticipated competition.

Team Lao got off to a quick start taking 3.5 points out of 4.0 after the first four matches. But Team Viet came roaring back taking 9 points out of the next 12 to take a commanding lead of 9.5 to 6.5 with 6 matches to go. But the Lao team fought back to even the competition at 10.5 each with one match to go heading to the 18th hole. Finally, Jerry Tran delivered a full point to clinch the cup for Team Viet. The final score was 11.5 for Team Viet and 10.5 for Team Lao.

Congratulations to the Team Viet for winning the 2023 LaVi Cup. Great job Team Viet for re-capturing the LaVi Cup and a BIG SHOUT OUT to Team Lao for a terrific competition.
