CVGA 2023 Year-end Awards Banquet

We had a great turnout at our annual awards dinner at PhoNGrill on Saturday, December 2nd with over 40 people joining the year-end festivities. Thank you everyone for joining the fun. A big SHOUT OUT to all of the spouses in attendance, you all are awesome.

Congratulations to Binh Le for winning the 2023 CVGA Cup and Player of the Year award. It was well earned as Binh was our most consistent player in 2023 winning the July tournament and coming in Second in September and Third in June. The Runner-up for 2023 CVGA Cup was Hoang Le. He came in Second for the November tournament and Thirds in September and October tournaments. In addition, he dropped two strokes from his handicap index from 9.9 to 7.9. Nam Le took Third place in the 2023 CVGA Cup. Nam won the April tournament and finished Third in July. He also made tremendous stride in 2023 reducing his handicap index from over 30 to 21.4 by year-end. Congratulations to Binh, Hoang and Nam for a great year.

The Most Improved Player of the Year award went to Thai Dang. Thai started the year in March with a handicap index in the high 20’s and finished the year at 13.8. Awesome improvement Thai. It does help that he played about 10 rounds a week. Great job Thai.

7. Waste Management Highest Round A Flight – Trang Truong (104 @ Arboretum Club on May 21st) and Noah Kemp (104 @ Chalet Hills on April 16th) (Dozen Used Golf Balls)
8. Waste Management Highest Round B Flight – Minh Nguyen (118 @ Klein Creek on July 9th) (Dozen Used Golf Balls)

We had another great season in 2023. It was great to see members engaged in the monthly tournaments and weekly outings. Have a great Holiday season and see everyone in 2024.
